Drunk Driving: Jacqueline Saburido - More amazing video clips are a click away
I have came across the photos of this lady many many times in my email. Most often I would just take it as another junk mail, and would click "delete" beroe I would read through it.
However, this was a different case. This was because, there was a period of time when I kept receiving the same email about this girl from so many people (even my mom) it wasnt even funny anymore. So I decided to read through the contents to see what it was about.
For those who still have no idea who Jacqueline Saburido is, here's a brief intro about her from Wikipedia
"Jacqueline "Jacqui" Saburido (b. December 20, 1978 in Caracas, Venezuela) is a victim and survivor of a drunk driving accident. She has publicized her own facial disfigurement to show the potential consequences of drunk driving"
More about her here.
Now why am I posting this is because, firstly, I am a person who likes to go drinking. I drink in pubs, lounges, clubs quite often. And people who knows me may classify me as a heavy drinker. I drink alot but I've never got drunk.
However, as a responsible drinker, I have never once drove my car (or my friend's) after a drinking session. We know the consequences, and at the same time (we dont want to get caught by police). But most importantly, me and my friends, we keep reminding ourselves that we are putting people's lives in our hands each time they take a ride in our car. Someone's loved one is in our hand through that journey from Point A to Point B and that is a HUGE responsibility! doesn't matter if that journey involves drinking or not.
Therefore we always take care to NOT to drive when we're intoxicated with alchohol because we do not want to take the change to gamble with our lives, our friend's lives and the lives of other people on the road.
Always remember, after a huge night of partying which involves alchohol, stop by a place, like mamak stall for instance, and have a hot tea take a break and wait till you're sober before taking the journey home. Either that or do what me and my friends do sometime...
Get a friend like Jester who:
1. Does not drink alchohol
2. Has ZERO tolerance to alchohol, even beer
3. Orders coke/orange juice in clubs, bars and lounges
4. Reminds you everytime you took that extra glass is TOO MUCH
5. Takes care of you when you are a lil too tipsy, and
6. Always drives the journey back home, cause she is the only one who is sober and not intoxicated.
Only thing is, she doesn't drive MANUAL. So make sure you drive an auto car if you're going drinking with her.
Anyway, back to the topic...
If you support my idea of going against DRUNK DRIVING (which I know all of you do). JOIN THE PACT! like me and support Mika Hakkinen in a NEVER DRINK AND DRIVE cause to ensure no other cases like Jacqueline will happen to another person anymore!
In Mika's full support, I will promote the idea to all my friends, especially those who drinks often to Join The Pact and I believe that by targetting to pubs, lounges and clubs for them to promote the cause to their regular patrons will be a brilliant idea to help Mika in his mission to get as many people as possible to JOIN THE PACT.
Lastly, to all my dear blog readers. Mark your calendar because, on 12th September 2009, we are all going to Sunway Pyramid for the launch of the uber cool JTP Supercar demo run and... guess what...
I'll definately be there... so will you?
Oh yeah, before I forget, go Join The Pact! and get your certificate... LIKE ME!!!
